Calling all Trumbull High School poets! Poetry by the Sea is a community of poets and educators committed to diversity, inclusiveness, and mutual respect in the pursuit of artistic excellence and creative growth. The yearly Conference, held in May, welcomes poets of all backgrounds in an environment that values and supports each person’s unique contribution and voice. Our picturesque retreat setting on the Connecticut shore facilitates an easy exchange of ideas among attendees, faculty, and guest speakers, and is an ideal locale for creative inspiration.
The Jane Caruso Memorial Scholarship to Poetry by the Sea is an opportunity for Trumbull High School students who would like to deepen their commitment to learning poetic craft. In 2026, the field trip to the conference will take place on Wednesday, May 20, at Mercy by the Sea, and a select group of THS students will be chosen to attend. Who was Jane Caruso?
In addition, our Work-Study Scholarship program provides an opportunity for college and graduate students to attend workshops and other events free of charge.
