It’s Our Anniversary Year!

Hard to believe that it’s been ten years since Kim Bridgford successfully organized and ran the first Poetry by the Sea Conference, in Madison, Conn. Much has changed—new faces, new poetry—but the essentials are the same, including Kim’s vision  of a conference that fostered “interconnectedness, enrichment, acceptance, and inspiration.”

To mark the year, we’ve co-sponsored (with Wild & Precious Life Series) The Gylys Villanelle Prize. And we are awarding this year’s Jane Caruso Memorial  Scholarship to a teacher of English—Shannon Van Meter.

Finally, we’re celebrating at the Conference with champagne toasts at our receptions and a display of items and photos commemorating the Conference.

Join us May 27-30 to celebrate the triumph of Kim’s hard work and foresight. And bring your favorite stories and memories to share.
